  • Our server, Sean, was excellent, a perfect mix of professional and personal. While the kitchen made a mistake on our table's order, Sean made it his responsibility to ensure we were taken care of with sufficient attention. Overall, good food and nearly always consistent results. Staff have been on point. Management make an effort to check in on tables to ensure good service.

I can remember back in the seventies and eighties when The Keg represented good value, a place where you could get a decent meal at a decent price. Well, that was then, and this is now, and unfortunately, the now is not nearly as good as the then. I went to The Keg the other day with a couple of friends and experienced a little sticker shock from the menu prices. The 10-ounce prime rib dinner was $38.I can get a similar dinner at Ocean Park Pizza for $24. I ordered a baked potato with my dinner, and the server said we are out of baked potatoes. I thought how you could be out of baked potatoes at 5 p.m. borders on the absurd! The next time I'm jonesing for prime rib, I'll be going to Ocean Park.

Not usually a reviewer... but I have to share a bit about our horrible experience here. My husband and I are young married educators in a private school, and were given a $100 gift card for a date night at the end of the school year. At the end of our meal with friends, we were told by the waitress that the gift card showed a "no account" error and that we would have to pay the entirety of our bill (according to the manager). We asked to speak to this manager and a man named Jesse came to speak with us at the table. He was immediately confrontational... asking "what school?" we work at, as if to suggest that we were lying in order to score a cheap meal. This insult started off a lengthy pair of exchanges in which he twice tried to squeeze us into paying our full bill because this "never happens" and if they had bought the gift card there they would have "activated it properly". He left the first half of our exchange saying he'd make couple calls and see what he could do, but soon came back saying the same story that he already said about how they should have bought a gift card at that particular keg. When we asked why we had to pay for this mistake, and why the $100 couldn't just be comped... he replied "I could comp this whole restaurant" but that he still wouldn't do anything for us. So rude. My husband continually persisted and said: "so you're telling me that this $100 mistake that is not our fault is more important than your reputation?". People had been looking at our table by this point, which was extremely embarrassing for us. After we put up an extended, upset response to all the suspicion, condescension, and stubbornness.... instead of backing down and apologizing... he said "oh, I'm going to cover the $100, I was going to this whole time... I just wanted to explain how this all works". We knew this was complete garbage, since he had spent two separate lengthy exchanges trying to squeeze the money out of us. Jesse (this manager) looked panicked and stuttered through the exchange from this point onward until our poor waitress (not her issue!) brought our revised receipt back. What should have been a nice double date with friends left us insulted and embarrassed enough to write this stupid review on google. Never going back.
